What are we to make of the miracles attributed to Jesus of Nazareth? Can the occurrence of miracles be believed in our scientific age? Did the followers of Jesus just make them up to draw people to their movement? If they did happen, what do they tell us about the identity and mission of Jesus? In this class, we will explore the case for miracles, consider the redemptive context and purpose of miracles in the ministry of Jesus, and conduct a close examination of select miracles that demonstrate his power over sickness and disease, nature, the dark forces of the demonic, and death itself.
