Most people have heard of the Book of Mormon. Mormons themselves (or Latter Day Saints) know who Mormon is, as well as the angel who stands atop their temples and the roles Joseph Smith and Brigham Young played in founding this faith that has affected US history. However, most non-Mormons do not have any idea who these characters are nor the story laid out in the Book of Mormon. In this talk I will sketch the history of this faith that began in America, and provide some insights as to the historical impact.
